Meet Tamara
Tamara Jolee Metcalfe is a servant of Jesus Christ, Bible teacher, prophetic scribe and storyteller with a heart to see God's people walk in the fullness of their calling. She is passionate about helping others recognize their God-given gifts, grow in their understanding of Scripture and discover that even the most difficult chapters of life can become powerful testimonies of God's faithfulness.
A two-time Associated Press Broadcasters award-winning journalist, Tamara has spent more than two decades telling stories that inform, inspire and give others a voice. Now she uses those same skills to “report” on the Kingdom of God.
Much of Tamara's ministry has been shaped by her own encounters with suffering and the faithfulness of Jesus in the midst of it. After battling cancer as a young adult, she later walked alongside her mother through her own cancer journey until her mom went home to be with the Lord. Those experiences forever changed the way Tamara understands suffering, compassion, illness and the heart of God. She has spent lots of personal time with Jesus, the Man of Sorrows, acquainted with grief (Isaiah 53:3) and loves to teach others about Him.
Tamara is especially passionate about encouraging those who have spent years feeling hidden, forgotten, rejected or disqualified by their hardships. Through her writing and teaching, she hopes to help others come out of hiding, rediscover their God-given identity and find the courage to start again.
Above all, Tamara considers herself a lifelong student of God's Word, with a heart and soul devoted to Jesus Christ. She has a deep appreciation for the Hebrew and Jewish roots of her faith and a passion for helping others discover the richness of Scripture. She values sound doctrine and spiritual discernment and desires to see believers embrace the gifts of the Holy Spirit while remaining firmly grounded in biblical truth.
A native of the Dallas, Texas, area (Midlothian), Tamara continues to write, speak, teach and share what she is learning as she follows Jesus into new places and seasons. For more than three years, she has lived without a permanent address, calling the nations her home as she goes wherever the Lord leads. She is a proud aunt to four incredible nieces and nephews and hopes to empower the next generation to walk fully in their God-given callings.
Her heart for ministry is perhaps best captured in the words of Peter and John in Acts 4:20:
