Prophetic Word: Don’t Bury What God Has Already Placed in Your Hands

“To one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey.”

Matthew 25:15

When I was a teen, I wrote a children’s book for a school project that God often brings back to memory. I wrote about how God gives each of us unique gifts and abilities. I didn’t fully grasp the depth of what I was writing back then, but something in me knew it mattered. I held onto that book, not realizing God was actually speaking destiny into my heart.

Looking back, I see now it wasn’t just a school assignment. It was a seed. God was planting a truth in my spirit that I would need as an adult. There have been seasons when I questioned my abilities or hesitated to move forward with what God asked of me. But that little book continues to remind me that what Jesus places in us is intentional and valuable. He expects us to use what He’s given.

That children’s book mirrors the parable of the talents in Matthew 25. In the story, Jesus tells of a Master who entrusts three servants with specific sums of money (“talents”) before going away.

The first servant was given five talents, and he didn’t waste any time. He put the money to work and doubled it. The second servant, who was given two talents, did the same. He invested wisely and gained a return. But the third servant, who only received one talent, let fear control his actions. Instead of doing something good with it, he hid it away. He played it safe and ended up with nothing to show for what he was entrusted with.

When the Master came back, he praised the first two servants and gave them even more. But the third was rebuked. His inaction wasn’t seen as caution. It was called wicked and lazy. He didn’t just waste an opportunity. He dishonored the trust he had been given and lost even the little he had.

I believe the parable of talents carries prophetic weight in this season. God wants our diligence. You’re incredibly talented and this is not the time to sit on the sidelines. Your gifts must be released because people in the Kingdom need what you have to share. Some of the things you thought were small or forgotten are about to come alive with fresh purpose. Do not dismiss what seems insignificant. This is a time to uncover what you buried, dust off what you once set aside, and steward it with boldness. Heaven is watching how we handle what we’ve been given. God also loves cheerful givers; when we pour into others we receive so much more in return.

Speaking from personal experience, I can tell you that fear, comfort, and hesitation can rob us of our calling if we let them. What starts as delay can quietly grow into disobedience. If we’re not intentional, we can bury what God planted and miss the very reason we were created. In this spot, hopelessness can quickly settle in when we stop pursuing our passions and serving others.

Living with purpose requires action. It means honoring what God has already placed inside of you.

Many people wonder what their gifts are. Start here: What comes naturally to you? What brings you joy when you’re helping others? What do people consistently ask you for help with? Your calling is often found in what flows easily, not in what you force. God doesn’t hide purpose. He reveals it by what you already do with excitement and ease.

Beloved, you are marked by Jesus and positioned for impact. You were never meant to blend in or hide what makes you different. You carry something the Kingdom needs, and now is the time to use it. Let this be the season you stop second-guessing and begin stewarding the investment God has already placed inside of you.

ENCOURAGEMENT

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
(1 Peter 4:10)

Many of God’s people are standing at a threshold. This is the point where your preparation must be put into action. We can’t sit back idly and just expect God to do everything. It’s time to arise and use our talents, resources, creativity, wisdom, time and spiritual gifts for a greater glory.

This word is not to cause you panic, but rather to stir up activation. You already know what God has asked you to do. Whatever Jesus says, just DO IT. The time is now.

The Lord Jesus is asking for our YES even when afraid. It takes mighty courage to step forward when we feel like we’re lacking resources, time or even confidence. However, the more you try and put in effort, God will intercede and help with the rest.

MY STORY: GOD’S GLORY

Lately, I’ve been finding the courage to share more of my story. It hasn’t always been easy to open up, but I’m learning there’s power in telling the truth about where you’ve been and what God has done. So this week, I thought I’d take a moment to share a bit more about the last couple of years because it ties into this week's word.

Nearly two years ago, God asked me to walk away from the very career I had spent most of my life building. I had invested over 20 years in media, showing up early, staying late, telling meaningful stories, and earning a voice in rooms that once felt unreachable. I didn’t take it for granted. I knew God had opened those doors, and I was grateful.

Then one day, the Lord asked me to lay it down. He didn’t give me a detailed plan. He didn’t tell me how I would pay my bills. He simply said, “Follow Me.”

I turned in my resignation with no safety net. I loved my corporate career and the people there and it felt like death at times. I didn’t have a backup plan or a five-step business strategy. As a cancer survivor, I was taking a huge risk without health insurance. Still, I had a word from the Lord, and that was enough. I also put all of my belongings into storage and started traveling with Jesus.

From the moment I obeyed, He began to slowly open doors. Opportunities I never expected began to unfold. Provision came right on time. Assignments were released. But it didn’t all happen at once. It was a slow release because I had to learn a new order.

That first year was incredibly hard. Really, really hard. It stretched me in ways I never saw coming and humbled me to the core. I began to understand what Paul meant when he said that in our weakness, we are strong. There were even times I had to rely on others, and through that, God showed me I was loved and seen. I also learned who I could trust and who I needed to release.

To be honest, I didn’t even know what God was doing at the time. I simply followed His lead, and He started rebuilding my life. Jesus revealed something completely new — but none of it began until I said yes. During that same season, my ministry also began to grow and flourish. It was really special to watch.

With growth came opposition in some areas. There were times I had to stand up for justice and use my voice boldly, even when it cost me something. Other times, God asked me to stay quiet and trust that He was fighting the battle for me. I had to learn the difference between when to speak and when to be still. I learned to forgive time and time again. There were moments I definitely missed the mark (hey, we’re all human), but I was growing. The warfare sharpened me, and in the pressure, I discovered a strength I didn’t know I had.

This journey has stretched me in every way. There have been tears and moments when fear tried to take center stage. I wrestled with doubt at times, wondering if I truly heard God, but I never let go of His voice. There were seasons where provision came just in time and moments when I had only enough for the basics.

Still, God never failed me. He sustained me, refined me, and taught me how to stand. I have come to know Him as El Roi, the God who sees. He sees every moment, sacrifice and tear. He never looks away. Through it all, I’ve became stronger, more grounded, and more confident in His calling on my life. Most of all, I love Him with all my heart and soul!

I am not the same person since starting this journey of obedience. I am more surrendered. I have deeper compassion for those who are in lack, homeless, overlooked, or battling despair. I absolutely will not tolerate bullying behavior. especially from those in perceived power. My eyes are more attuned to Kingdom matters than material needs. I am learning, over and over again, that it is always worth it to follow Christ even when others don’t understand.

Most of all, I have tasted and seen the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. I have watched as He launched new dreams and sent me to new destinations. Jesus has allowed me to meet people from all over the world. He has grown my ministry and sent people from around the globe who need love and encouragement.

Even more, I have witnessed how God sends people to help us in times of need. He knows when we are weary. Time and time again, He brings the right people at the right moment to speak life, pray with us, or simply walk alongside us. This is the beauty of God’s design. We are not meant to carry our assignments in isolation. He weaves our stories together so we can build each other up and reflect His love to a world in need.

Through it all, I’ve come to know the love of our Heavenly Father in a deeper and more personal way. It has shaped me from the inside out, and I wouldn’t trade that closeness for anything. My heart is for others to know God like that too. And that same young girl who once wrote children’s books for a school project? Because I said yes to Jesus, I’ve now had the joy of helping Christian authors bring their own books to life as a ghostwriter! My latest author just hit the Amazon Top 100 twice in her first month! I know I wouldn’t be where I am today if I hadn’t obeyed God.

Maybe you’re standing at a similar threshold right now. Maybe you are staring at the unknown, questioning whether you have what it takes to move forward. It might feel risky. It might feel overwhelming. And yes, it might cost you something. But I want to remind you of this truth:

God never asked you to be perfect. He only asked you to be willing. You were not created to shrink back or hide your calling. You were not made to bury what God has placed inside of you. You were created to multiply it, to steward it, and to release it into the world for His glory.

So today, I want to say with love and urgency what I believe the Lord is speaking to His people right now:

THIS IS THE MOMENT TO SAY YES!!!

Don’t wait for the perfect moment or for motivation to strike before you begin. Don’t cling to what God has already asked you to release. Don’t wait until you have all the money or resources lined up. And don’t hold back your gifts out of fear or the need to protect yourself.

You are not in danger of running out. You’re in danger of missing God’s best if you don’t move when He says move. Heaven is not asking for perfection. Heaven is asking for participation.

Say yes, even if your hands tremble. Say yes, even if your voice shakes. Say yes, even if stepping into the unknown scares you.

God will meet you there, and He will multiply what you surrender.

FINAL WORDS

“The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.”
Proverbs 11:25

When you step out and use what God placed in your hands, things begin to shift.

In Matthew 25, the ones who put their talents to work saw an increase.

The one who hid his talents did not.

The message is clear: faithfulness leads to fruitfulness.

The Master said, “Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many. Come and share your master’s happiness” (Matthew 25:21).

So, whether you’re a mom raising Kingdom pioneers, a teacher shaping the next generation, a creative stewarding your gifts, or a business leader called to influence culture - this is the time to go ALL IN.

God honors the offering of your hands when it is surrendered to Him.

Lately, the Lord has been speaking to me through Scripture in my dreams. It’s His way of giving direction, not just for me, but for those in the body of Christ.

A few nights ago, I woke up hearing 2 Timothy 2:6:

“The hardworking farmer should be the first to receive a share of the crops.”

I knew right away it was a word for this season.

God is highlighting diligence. He is reminding us that the ones who have labored in secret will be the first to see the fruit.

This is not a time to shrink back. It is a time to continue working the field God has given you.

Keep writing. Keep praying. Keep building. Keep creating. Keep loving others. Keep raising your children and grandchildren with purpose.

Keep showing up even when no one claps. God is not unjust. He sees every seed, every sacrifice, and every yes. The harvest will come, and those who have stayed the course will taste it first.

I love you, Kingdom family! Don’t ever give up. 💜
